- Raconix Corp. re-engineers software written for IBM System/34 and /36,
- System/38, and Application System/400 into native and ANSI-standard UNIX.
- Grouped under the U/3X product heading, U/36, U/38, and U/400 removes the
- proprietary barriers for IBM midrange systems to enable full UNIX
- implementation of the designed S/3X software functionality. Resultant
- software is POSIX-compliant. All available UNIX tools can be applied to
- converted code. As well, the code is now available to fully utilize UNIX
- capabilities such as SQL, client-server, X Windows, OSF/Motif GUI, etc. U/36
- re-engineers S/34 and S/36 OCL to Korn Shell, RPGII programs to C programs and
- COBOL to COBOL/85 programs. U/38 and U/400 re-engineers CL to Korn Shell,
- RPGIII programs to C and COBOL programs to COBOL/85 programs. S/38 and AS/400
- database functionality is supplied through our ANSI standard SQL, which is
- functionally equivalent to services provided by IBM. Optional ports to
- name-brand SQLs such as Informix, Sybase, Oracle, and Cognos are available.
- Porting to 4GLs as an option will be available fourth quarter 1992. U/36 was
- a finalist in the SCO Open Desktop Product of the Year Contest, in the Tools
- category, 1991.
